DeJope Madison Casino - A little vegas, right here in Madison

Well the new DeJope casino has opened up in Madison. There have been some pretty cool ads on tv as of recently advertising the grand opening of this new casino, which is right off the beltline. Me and my friend just turned 21, so planned on making a trip to DeJope to see what they have to offer.

Well after the 15 minute drive in the snow to Dejope, we arrived to fancy neon lights, and the sweet smell of cigarette smoke. We looked around to find blackjack tables to try our luck, but all we could find were slot machines. When we asked a worker where we could find a blackjack table, she explained to us that Dejope was only a class 2 casino, and only offered slot machines and bingo. Wow.

The Dejope slogan, "A little Vegas, right here in Madison" definitely does not live up to it's name. Instead of finding teenagers running around with pocket's full of cash, we found hold grandma's chain smoking, and play slot machines. It was one of the greatest times of my life.

We decided to sit down and test our luck at the slot machines since we drove all the way there. My friend ended up losing $15 and I won a whopping $9. I'd rather not test my luck on a machine that is drawing odds against me. Overall, I think casino's turn me off of gambling and make me depressed seeing people throw their money into a machine hoping to get more out of it. I guess the moral of this story is to get a job and work for money instead of hoping it pops out of a machine.

If you plan on going to dejope, I would strongly suggest you reconsider.

Dejope don't pay and it's not ok!! I have been going there about 2 to 3 times a week for the last 2 years, each time with $300 going in, 8/10 times I am out of my money in less than a half an hour doing 20 cent bets to $3 dollar bets! This happens every time! A good day at dejope for me is when I get to at least play for an hour whith my $300 dollars. They are the coldest machines around!! I can't stress enough to tell people to go elswhere! Learn from my mistake, dejope don't pay and it's not ok!!!!!!

Safe to say after my recent gaming experience at Dejope that I will NEVER set foot in this place again. I was a 'regular' at Dejope for some time and seldom did I ever win enough to offset the losses I had on other occasions. Service at Dejope is poor at best - practically non-existent most of the time. First and foremost, however, are the horrible payouts. But why quibble about it? I will spend my money elsewhere in the future.

I love the tv commercial for your casino. The guys are great, especially the one in the center when they go to get their car.

Well to be perfectly honest, if you're looking for card games and high stakes, Dejope IS not for you. but, i, being only 18, love to go there with friends and chill. it's fun. there is a nifty setup and some pretty good eatin'. I also am pleased with my experience thus far. about a week ago i won the progressive jackpot on a 25 cents machine thus yielding me $2,500... and that works pretty well for me. especially right before Spring Break. they also have FREE slot tournaments on Tuesdays and that is always a fun experience. There are a lot of old people but its fun for them to at least see a little life every once in awhile. honestly. don't go EXPECTING to win big. but ya never know. ps. AND you can't beat FREE soda... :)

Do you have to be 21 to play the slots at Dejope or can you be 18?
