I Want My Free Laptop Dot Com
If you have been listening to the radio lately, then you have probably heard the amazing offer I Want My Free Laptop Dot Com has to offer.
On their website, I Want My Free Laptop .com, it says, you need to take these 3 easy steps to get your laptop...
- Select your gift and enter your e-mail
- Tell us where to send your gift.
- Complete the sponsored offers of your choise
Well and editor at PC Word tried to get his free laptop, well not really. What he ended up with was a whole bunch of spam mail, good thing he used a fake e-mail address. He also checked into the Better Business Bureau and found out that over 250 people registered complaints against the company in the past 2 and a half year.
Considering I Want My Free Laptop Dot Com's only source of marketing is their radio campaign, it assume it is very hard to convert radio listeners, usually in cars, to hop online and visit your site, even if your giving away free laptops. So I tried a google search for their site, and came up with nothing? What? Google doesn't think your site exists? robots.txt file was disallowing all search engine spiders for the entire domain. Wow, thats smart, looks like it shouldn't be too hard to rank for "I Want My Free Laptop", and hopefully people will be searching for it, unless the I Want My Free Laptop jingle really stuck in your head.
I guess the moral of the story is, don't be stupid and play into tricks like this. If you want to make money online, read some blogs online, and join partnerships with reputable companies, for example... how about google? They make billion's of dollars, and like to share their revenue through Google Adsense. Try starting up a legitimate business, instead of falling into Free Laptop scams. Seesh.

Dear fellow dummies; I fulfilled a number of “requirements” to receive my “FREE” laptop, including a Blockbuster account, acquiring several credit cards and running up thousands in personal debt, etc. To make a long story short, I never got my “free” laptop. As anyone with any sense should know, nothing is “free”. There is always a hitch and I didn’t mind the hitch because my credit adviser recommended I open several charge accounts to boost my credit rating. I’ve just always figured if I want it that bad, I’d better have the money to buy it otherwise, save up for it or wait for some “unexpected” income to befall me. I’ve made several inquiries and I was just wondering if anyone on here might know who to contact or what to do about not getting my “free” laptop. I’ve never really needed one but now with a child approaching that age of need, I’d like to have one to use with my wireless internet connection so I can look things up while watching football or basketball while she does her homework. I was promised a Toshiba or two other brands I don’t recall and, I figured they’d be “last years” models left over from slow sales. But what the hell! I don’t need a “super computer” to look up scores or watch highlights. I guess it’s just stuck in my craw that I was duped into this and a matter of principle, now that it’s eaten at me every time I pay one of those C.C. bills. Anybody know what to do? I can tell you this; I’ve had tremendous successes when not pleased with an internet scam or deal that wasn’t what I was really looking for by contacting the company and reminding them of the follwing: WARNING! What I dont understand is, why would a radio station which complies with FCC and other government regulations support an ad for something which is obviously a scam? I actually had a thought, wow on the radio, thats def not a BS website which any 10 year old at his grandmas house can make. The radio is serious business. Under government regulations. Im am the king of these dumb surveys. The way they work is you enter your email they sell that to other companies wich=$$ for them. Then you enter ur adress once agian $$ 4 them. Then when you do these surveys you ALLWAYS wind up buying somthing if u actully get the item you want. Usally more than about 50$ worth of stuff. Wich is $$ 4 them. Also they advertise on there site if you click on it (u usally have to 2 do the suvey) more $$ 4 them. So by the time you click the X button at the top right corner of the page because you relzied you just got scamed you allready gave them over 100$

Thanks you for the information. I heard the radio ad and wanted a free laptop. I didn't have a paying job for 8 1/2 years. I took care of my mother who had dementia. I am now working but only to pay off bills. A laptop would have been great to use at lunchtime at work. I'm glad I didn't fall into their trap, thanks to you!

I received a free laptop from getyourfreelaptop.com (which is the same guys as iwantmyfreelaptop.com) it is a $1500 model I spent $108 to get it...not free but not bad!

I once fell for one of these scams, and ended up paying $400 on advertisments for it. The laptop was worth $150. Do not listen to any of these people trying to get your money. These people are still charging my credit card too. Look on ebay, there are plenty of cheap laptops and desktop pcs there.

stop calling people names. They may not understand what the article is about. half of them asking for a free laptop sound like they are from a different country. unfortunately, a lot of things are scams and you really have to be careful. I know that here in new york city when businesses throw out used laptops they will donate them to people who are on their waiting list. Of course there is a catch to that. You have to be reffered by someone in the company. There are ways of getting laptops without begging or believing in scams. you just have to be smart about the way you go about it.

I just received an Apple MacBook, top of the line with all the bells and whistles from that website. It wasn't free. You have to sign up for a total of 10 things, some free, most not. and stay with them for 2 months. I added up what I spent and it was around $350. That was a lot cheaper than spending $1,500 on a MacBook. I did receive it and we love it. The thing to watch out for is the "free" offers. Some of them are still charging my card and I can't get them to stop. So if you are careful and watch what you do you CAN get a laptop, it's just not free!!

Hasn't anyone ever heard of the phrase, "There is no such thing as a free toaster" or something like that. You have to fill out a bunch of surrey's or sign up for credit cards that are way out of your league to qualify for a free laptop. What this post is saying is, it would be easier to get a job and work for money than to put up with a scam like this just to get a free laptop, just be weary of people giving away free laptops, they are usually not all that free.
