I Want My Free Laptop Dot Com

Free Laptop

If you have been listening to the radio lately, then you have probably heard the amazing offer I Want My Free Laptop Dot Com has to offer.

On their website, I Want My Free Laptop .com, it says, you need to take these 3 easy steps to get your laptop...

  1. Select your gift and enter your e-mail
  2. Tell us where to send your gift.
  3. Complete the sponsored offers of your choise
Wow! Can it really be that simple?

Well and editor at PC Word tried to get his free laptop, well not really. What he ended up with was a whole bunch of spam mail, good thing he used a fake e-mail address. He also checked into the Better Business Bureau and found out that over 250 people registered complaints against the company in the past 2 and a half year.

Considering I Want My Free Laptop Dot Com's only source of marketing is their radio campaign, it assume it is very hard to convert radio listeners, usually in cars, to hop online and visit your site, even if your giving away free laptops. So I tried a google search for their site, and came up with nothing? What? Google doesn't think your site exists? robots.txt file was disallowing all search engine spiders for the entire domain. Wow, thats smart, looks like it shouldn't be too hard to rank for "I Want My Free Laptop", and hopefully people will be searching for it, unless the I Want My Free Laptop jingle really stuck in your head.

I guess the moral of the story is, don't be stupid and play into tricks like this. If you want to make money online, read some blogs online, and join partnerships with reputable companies, for example... how about google? They make billion's of dollars, and like to share their revenue through Google Adsense. Try starting up a legitimate business, instead of falling into Free Laptop scams. Seesh.

Thanks you for the information. I heard the radio ad and wanted a free laptop. I didn't have a paying job for 8 1/2 years. I took care of my mother who had dementia. I am now working but only to pay off bills. A laptop would have been great to use at lunchtime at work. I'm glad I didn't fall into their trap, thanks to you!

I once fell for one of these scams, and ended up paying $400 on advertisments for it. The laptop was worth $150. Do not listen to any of these people trying to get your money. These people are still charging my credit card too. Look on ebay, there are plenty of cheap laptops and desktop pcs there.

It's amazing that no one has come up with an legitamate charity for people who cannot get a laptop and who really genuinely need one. Maybe then not so many people would fall for these scams. The government goes on and on about how it wants everyone to be pc literate, but doesn't help at all. It's just stupid in this day of age. oh and for that 'stupid moron' guy...yeh, you try going to college and trying to get onto a computer for more than 15 minutes at the time...that's IF you can actually GET on an actually computer. Not every college or university is that over-whelmed with computers, which kinda illustrates my above statement.

I really would love one but I can't get the money and ( I'm in foster care ) my foster parents wont supply it . I just want a laptop computer with maybe a simple version of Ububtu Linux and a DVD burner . I also just want to just so then you know notify you that I am also up for adoption . It's strange that radio stations are actually advertising for this sortive thing. I have to agree that it's very deceptive to hear "Free laptop" when it's not free at all. But I do remember a few years back...I took a few surveys for this website, and they actually sent me a $200 graphing calculator for free. I kept expecting them to ask me to take one an offer, but the never did. Then about a month or two later, I got it in the mail. Sadly enough, some kid from my highschool stole it from me a few months later. At any rate, most of the sites are bull-sh*t, so my advice is to be careful and if you have the money to spend on the offers, you should just go ahead and buy the freakin' laptop. At least you'll have it immediately. lol

The website iwantmyfreelaptop.com might be shady, but its not a scam. If you follow the terms and conditions to a "T" and do everything within the timelines you will recieve you laptop. Technically, the laptop is not free, everyone is right about that. For my personal experience, it took about 5 months from start to finish to recieve mine. You do have to sign up with 10 trial offers, only 2 of which you can cancel within 60 days. The other 8 you CAN NOT cancel until after 61 days. I think where people really probably get screwed is that they forget to cancel their offers or either do not comply with all the terms and conditions. I spent exactly $237.34 in trial offers and I cancelled every offer on the 61st day. I set a Windows alarm reminder on my other pc. Also, if you do this make sure you save EVERY email that comes from iwantmyfreelaptop.com and also every email that comes from any sponsor that you did a paid offer with. You will need these because at the end of you 60 days you will be required to send in proof from billing statement or bank statement(with account numbers blocked out, of course) and copies of all email confirmations that actually became a member of these websites. After this, you will then get notification that you have qualified and you will then have to print off and fill out a gift redemption voucher and tax form and have it notorized and mail it in. Then, finally, you will get your laptop about 4 weeks later. Yes, yes, yes, I know it's almost not worth it, but in my case, I got a Toshiba Satellite laptop and $200.00 Visa card for $237.34. I call that a heck of a deal. If you have the due diligence to complete this long process and are responsible enough to remember to cancel ALL the offers on the 61st, then the program might work for you. If not then, oh well. I am sure there will many people who won't believe what I am writing, but I just wanted to share my experience with this company, since it wasn't a bad one. Besides how long and drawn out the process was, it was a good and fruitful one.

tiffany hamm posted on 02/10/2008 @ 5:15:56 pm

stop calling people names. They may not understand what the article is about. half of them asking for a free laptop sound like they are from a different country. unfortunately, a lot of things are scams and you really have to be careful. I know that here in new york city when businesses throw out used laptops they will donate them to people who are on their waiting list. Of course there is a catch to that. You have to be reffered by someone in the company. There are ways of getting laptops without begging or believing in scams. you just have to be smart about the way you go about it.

When they say they are giving free laptops, it is not true, I agree. But it's certainly a really good way to get a cheap one! The trick is: you complete one offer and refer friends. That company can afford to give you a laptop with the money they receive from their affiliates. http://your-free-macbook-air.blogspot.com/

jdm posted on 01/24/2008 @ 1:17:29 am

I thought that it sounded like a scam but looked it up anyway. ITS NOT REAL!!!! I couldnt' even find it so I came hear. most of the free giveaways are crap where you have to buy 50 million things or sign up for garbage you dont want or need. Ignore that stupid radio comercial and work for the money for a REAL laptop.

Liz posted on 01/23/2008 @ 8:19:21 am

I just received an Apple MacBook, top of the line with all the bells and whistles from that website. It wasn't free. You have to sign up for a total of 10 things, some free, most not. and stay with them for 2 months. I added up what I spent and it was around $350. That was a lot cheaper than spending $1,500 on a MacBook. I did receive it and we love it. The thing to watch out for is the "free" offers. Some of them are still charging my card and I can't get them to stop. So if you are careful and watch what you do you CAN get a laptop, it's just not free!!

If anything in life was free, we would all be living like Donald Trump and not fighting off starvation until next payday. I would like a free laptop just for the simple reason that my pc is out-dated and eating itself a little at a time. I say get a life! Or...if you aren't interested in that, I keep getting e-mails from this person in the UK that tells me I've won a Microsoft Lottery in the sun of 1,000,000 pounds, If you would like, I could forward your e-mail address to them so they can fill your inbox full of their crap. Then you can give them your bank account numbers and they can bilk you out of all your money.

You have to fill out a bunch of surrey's or sign up for credit cards that are way out of your league to qualify for a free laptop. What this post is saying is, it would be easier to get a job and work for money than to put up with a scam like this just to get a free laptop, just be weary of people giving away free laptops, they are usually not all that free.
