MSMW - Medeski, Scofield, Martin and Wood at The Rave

I had pretty high expectations for this show considering it was comprised of the MMW trio with accompaniment from John Scofield, but to my dismay, they didn't live up to what I hyped them up to be.

It could have been the traditionalist sit down concert's I've been used to seeing at the Memorial Union Theater, but the music really just didn't amaze me at all.

After hearing Scofield's same endless screeching guitar licks for 3 hours turned me off. Don't get me wrong, this group still lays a mean jam down, but there was nothing really amazing that put the show over the top.

It could have been that I was crammed in between a bunch of 16 years about 100 feet from the stage, or the wonderful stench of cigarettes burning my eyes, but this concert wasn't all that I hoped for.
