Avalanche Lake Hike - Glacier National Park

Me and Sean took a day trip up to Glacier National Park when we were in the Flathead valley for a triathlon. The Going to the Sun road was only open half way since the roads were still covered with snow in some areas. We parked at the trail head of Avalanche Lake and started the 2 mile hike up to avalanche lake. The trail was a bit muddy from all the snow run off, which made the hike a little more difficult than it would have been later on in the season. Once we arrived to avalanche lake, mountains opened up on all sides. The lake was crystal clear, due to the frozen water temperatures and no vegetation being able to withstand the cold water from the snow run off on the mountains.
